Women of color are told they’re undesirable, or that their only redeeming traits are their ass, thighs, curves, or breasts, because the standards for beauty have set by white misogynists who dehumanize and festishize WOC. They’ll tell you to put these harmful chemicals on your skin and take your dollar, but they won’t take your ass. The fact that skin lightening products are sold means that there is a demand for people who want lighter skin because they have been rejected and condemned for their bodies.  DO YOU FUCKING PEOPLE ACTUALLY NOT SEE THE HARMFUL CORRELATION BETWEEN THIS SHIT. I’m so fucking embarrassed by my fellow white feminists. You racist “feminists” are a fucking joke. If you can’t see how racist beauty standards aren’t relevant to feminism then you can gtfo. My sister used to have a boyfriend that told her she was “pretty” because she had lighter skin and “better” features (not like those other black girls). The amount of weight, even in these modern times placed on black women adhering to a “lighter is better” is considerable and interconnected with sexism without a doubt.
